North West Charity Awards – highly commended

North West Charity Awards – highly commended

17th Oct 2018

This was a first attempt at getting an award for the work we do so we are delighted to announce that we received a Highly Commended award in the “Small Charity, Big Impact” category beating 16 other charities.

Our submission was based on our YAC (young adult carers) programme specifically designed to support young carers approaching adult status.

The programme offers activities to build confidence, resilience and independence amongst this very special group of young people. It also features our “In To Work” initiative aiming to raise aspiration amongst our young carers.

North West charities and not-for-profit organisations had the opportunity to be celebrated and be recognised for their outstanding contributions to their communities. The awards have been created to shout about all the great things charities have been doing in the North West. They aim to promote and raise awareness and profiles for our charities and not-for-profit organisations and to honour, recognise, celebrate and promote outstanding professionals and best practices within our charities. The awards are aimed at recognising and showing appreciation to charities, social leaders and individuals across the sector who have made a positive impact; giving opportunities, refuge, care and guidance for some of our community’s most affected.

There really were some fantastic entries and wonderful charities on the night – we are very proud to have been involved and be successful in being highly commended!
