Robert Mee

Robert had a career of over 30 years with Chester based Capital Bank before moving  to Edinburgh where he was appointment as Chief Executive of the Bank of Scotland Retail Division.

He left the Bank in 2002 following the merger with Halifax Bank and decided to pursue his future career as a Non-Executive Director and worked with various financial organisations before retiring in 2011.

Since then, Robert has undertaken a number of voluntary roles.  He was asked by Cheshire West and Chester Council to help put together a private led Regeneration Board for Ellesmere Port, a role which he did for six years and which has seen significant economic growth with several thousand new jobs created and provided a strategic vision for the town.  He was then asked to join the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Board which oversees economic development for our sub-region.  Robert Chairs the Strategy Committee and is also Chair of the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone which includes Thornton Science Park, Birchwood Park and Alderley Life Science Park.

He became a Trustee of Cheshire Young Carers in 2015 and a Trustee and Chair of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in 2018.

He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Cheshire in recognition of outstanding Public Service in the County and he has also received an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Chester.
