Geoffrey Appleton

Geoffrey spent over thirty years working in the Courts Service holding a number of senior roles at both national and local level.

He took early retirement from HM Courts Service in 2010 as Area Director for Cheshire and Merseyside and has since worked in health and social care. He currently chairs three boards: St. Helens CCG (NHS), Cheshire West and Chester Adult Safeguarding Board and Cheshire East Adult Safeguarding Board. He also spent three years chairing the Fitness to Practice Panel for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and was previously Deputy Chair of Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Geoffrey is also a school governor of his old school, Cowley in St Helens and is a trustee of Liverpool Cathedral and the Athenaeum in Liverpool. In his spare time he enjoys baking and entertaining friends as well as foreign travel.
