Special Christmas messages for all our Young Carers and the CYC volunteers
Cheshire Young Carers is, for me, one of the most important charities in Cheshire. Caring is perhaps the most undervalued role in our society and this is even more so when it is young people who are the carers. These young people, through no fault of their own, have no alternative other than to care for one or both parents and/or their siblings. For those of us who do not have to do this, it is almost impossible to think of their daily routine and their daily stress. And, of course, they have to do all this on top of their school work and for no financial reward. They do it because they love the person for whom they care.
Cheshire Young Carers is able to give these wonderful young people some respite and also it is able to give them back some of their lost childhood and of course, meeting other young people with similar pressures is of itself very valuable to them.
I cannot praise too highly the work of this charity which truly “makes a difference” to some of the young people in the County most in need.
I also want to use this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who give of their time to help – without them there would be no charity – and also I want to thank all those who so generously support the charity financially. These donations make all the difference to the services the charity can provide to these very special young people.
